August 18, 2009 CareerEco and Our Green Value Host "Green" Career Skills Workshop

See us at CareerEco's Interactive Workshop

CareerEco® and Our Green Value™ will host the first-of-its-kind ‘Green' Career Skills Workshop, Tuesday August 18, 7-9 a.m., at the Centergy Building, 75 5th Street NW, Third Floor-Wayne Hodges Room. This team-based workshop will reveal new ‘green' pressures in today's marketplace, and then explore pragmatic solutions that professionals can readily apply within their existing company or in pursuit of future opportunities in the green job market.

“Green jobs are our future and there is a seat at the table for everyone in this global ‘green' economy,” said Gayle Oliver-Plath, CareerEco Founder. New careers are going to emerge that range from Environmental Affairs Officers, Restoration Ecologists, and Greenhouse Gas Auditors to Solar Panel Installers and Scooter Technicians. Everyone will be able to find a way to ‘go green' professionally in this sustainability-starved economy according to Oliver-Plath, a recruiter, author, and national career expert. “Learn green skills now so you can be more marketable in this competitive economy,” urges Oliver-Plath.

This session will provide CareerEco members and the public with an opportunity to learn ‘green' strategies, and how this knowledge can make them an asset to entrepreneurs and multi-national conglomerates facing increased pressures to go ‘green.' With the help of Our Green Value™, an organization dedicated to greening the workforce by providing practical knowledge through on-site and on-demand instruction, participants will enhance their practical problem solving and strategic planning skills as each team collaborates to solve a ‘green' market challenge.

In addition to live networking events, CareerEco remains dedicated to uniting and educating eco-minded employers and job seekers through its website, www.careereco.com. Online, career-changers and students can post resumes, look for jobs, and learn more about environmental solutions, green career opportunities, and job search strategies while connecting with other eco-conscious industry leaders and peers.
